The Prints of Scott Monteith

Premiering at The Gallery in Marquand





Scott Monteith is displaying prints at The Gallery in Marquand through the end of October. Born and raised in Southeast Missouri the artist grew up in Burfordville and attended school in Jackson. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a BFA in painting and printmaking and worked at what was then the University Museum. Upon graduating Monteith moved to California and has spent the last 20 years being an advocate for the arts. He is currently living and working in Southeast Missouri where he is continuing to foster the local art scene.

He is best known for his vibrant and iconic paintings of desert wildlife and watercolor landscapes of the desert Southwest. Works currently on display depict Missouri wildlife and imagery of Joshua Tree National Park where Monteith operated and curated for numerous galleries and art institutions.

His award-winning paintings and portraits have been exhibited throughout the US and are included in many public and private collections worldwide. Monteith's work has been included in numerous magazines and publications including the New York Times, The American Free Journal and Journey, a collection of poetry and short stories.

Scott Monteith will be showing through the end of October at The Gallery, located at 101 E. Pinckney Street just off Whitener Street behind the former Reagan Hotel in Marquand, Missouri.
